I severely think you missed my point here Sam. And I am going to write it here on my blog for other people to read and reblog with arguments as they say fit rather than limiting it to facebook friends or having to make a youtube account to actually respond to this video.

So. You have male privilege. Men do. I do. We have penises and we’re born into this world in an odd place as it’s some crazy societal thing that somehow for some god unkown reason puts us “above” women. Men earn more in the workplace, are more likely to be in political positions of government and have so much more privilege than women do.

Yes, abuse happens against men. Yes men get raped. Yes it is a terrible thing and shouldn’t happen in the first place. But what it feels as if you’re trying to say is that even though men have such privilege in the world, if something bad happens to them and a woman so much as makes a joke about it, it is a terrible thing, whereas men make sexist jokes EVERY FUCKING DAY. Men demoralise and degrade women every day and you can’t just say “Well I don’t think black people should be racist” or “Gay people can’t hate straight people” because the oppressors have this privilege or this sort of feeling of entitlement over a person, to subjugate them based on something as minute as what minority they are a part of.
I don’t like a lot of straight people as they are filled with hetero-privilege. I have had people telling me things about my own sexuality when they’re a straight person but they think because we both fancy a bit of cock they must know everything about it. But alot of them deny having straight privilege just as you’re a man denying male-privilege. And also there are those black comedian guys who make racist comments about white people because white people have white privilege, but I don’t find that offensive because well, they’ve gone through a lot in history and still suffer persecution as women do. you’ll never know what it’s like to be a woman, the qualia of womanhood, so don’t go insulting them because they want a piece of the action that the males of society get to wallow in every single fucking day. 

Now I realise I’ve probably not formed a very coherent and cohesive argument against you but I feel my main points  have been said and as I stated previously, I am leaving others to reblog and add arguments or criticise mine, it’s open for debate I suppose now it’s on the web but I still feel you’re being a little bit of a bigot and a douche yourself by trying to tell women they can’t do what so many men do every day which never gets an eye batted against it.  

Reggie, I truly believe you have misudnerstood the meaning of equality. I don’t make sexist jokes because I don’t think it is right for any demographic to do so, and partly because society has drummed into me that it is wrong to be sexist, racist or homophobic. My problem is the exact same society seems to deem it OK that the opressed are allowed to make these jokes because of the failings of our forefathers. This is wrong. I don’t make sexist jokes and yet I have to put up with sexist jokes such as grow a pair, be a man, or being told off for not being chivalrous. And yet I would get ripped apart from certain groups of women if I told them to get back in the kitchen. Now they may not be the same in a derogatory standpoint, but they both reinforce cultural stereotypes and yet one is permitted and the other is not. 

My point is that any form of joke made about mutilation, prejudice or the like should not be allowed in any format. I don’t care who has the privalege and who doesn’t. If I stole a painting from a rich man who was over taxing his tennants to buy the painting, regardless of how the man got the painting I would still have committed theft. But this does not seem to be the same idea for sexism in particular.

So like I say, just because they do it to you does not give you the right to do it to them, under any circumstances. In my ideals anyway, and I truly believe that if we are ever going to get to true gender equality, sexism and sterotypes on both sides must be thrown aside and not be tolerated. Regardless of the past actions. To move forward we need to start again, basically.

Now, any argument I make regarding any points you have made is falling under those paragraphs, which should basically be called “Can everyone, regardless of demographic calm the fuck down, forget what everyone has done in the past, and start again please?”

Like I’ve said, I don’t do these things, and I do not not understand that women have a horrifically bad time about it, but you’ve got to admit, no person should ever make jokes about the mutilation of a man’s penis, the same way we don’t laugh at the constant genital mutilation that is going on in extremist countries, regardless of demographic. This man, the most recent reports have stated, is that he may never regain full sexual activity ever again, and it would have to reconstructed synthetically because the woman put it in the garbage disposal shredder so there is nothing to reattach. This woman was a physco, and yet in this case because she is a woman she has been applauded by these women and that audience on the tv show. Seriously? I cannot and will never find an excuse good enough to defend a physcopath’s right to mutilate their husband because he asked for a divorce.
